Sustainability Trends Take Center Stage at Vietnam Wood 2025

Vietnam Wood 2025 showcased a clear vision for the environmentally friendly and sustainable use of softwoods. Many exhibitors focused on materials sourced from forests managed according to international standards such as the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and the Forest Management Council (PEFC). The Canadian Wood Vietnam booth presented a wide range of finishes, with wood panels ranging from light to dark colors, highlighting their versatility and adaptability to various designs. The company also offered a pilot program providing factories with free wood samples and technical consultations for production trials and technological improvements.

Many participants emphasized the importance of supply chain transparency and integrity in timber sourcing amid increasing scrutiny in global markets, particularly in the European Union and the United States. The exhibition, which featured over 320 companies from 28 countries across more than 13,500 square meters, served as an effective platform for showcasing modern woodworking technologies and environmentally friendly automation solutions. Furthermore, the discussion at the exhibition shifted towards balancing profitability with compliance with environmental standards, aiming to make sustainable wood a strategic choice rather than merely a luxury commodity. The Vietnamese government’s participation indicates its intention to strengthen forest management and expand environmentally certified areas to meet growing global demand and export requirements.
